VISION

A digitally empowered, educated and inclusive society where everyone, especially young people, can safely, ethically and meaningfully participate in the digital world, democratic processes and national development through access to technology, non-formal education and digital rights.

MISSION

To promote digital rights, strengthen digital literacy and empower societies through inclusive and equitable access to technology, non-formal education, democracy and digital empowerment. FHT is committed to protecting human rights online, advancing legal and democratic frameworks, and training people with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the digital age responsibly. Another mission is to foster collaboration between government, civil society, the private sector, academia and youth as civic and democratic participation, digital resilience and social inclusion in Timor-Leste.

About the Hadomi Timor Foundation (FHT)

The Hadomi Timor Foundation (FHT) is a dynamic civil society organization committed to fostering a digitally empowered, educated, democratic and inclusive Timor-Leste by advocating for digital rights, including equitable internet access, freedom of expression, digital security and democratic participation, while promoting digital literacy, social inclusion and ensuring online civic space, especially society and youth, with the knowledge and skills to engage safely, ethically and meaningfully in the digital world and national development through strategic advocacy and multi-sector collaboration that integrates technology, education and democratic values for long-lasting social impact.

To drive FHT’s vision of a society where all people, especially underserved or vulnerable youth and communities, can safely, ethically and meaningfully engage in the digital world and national development, FHT pursues its mission through inclusive and equitable access to technology, digital education and training.

FHT’s work with the core program is carried out through three divisions:

The Digital Inclusion, Policy & Democracy Division, leads advocacy, education and research to protect digital rights and democratic freedoms. This division promotes critical thinking, civic engagement and monitors national digital policy, infrastructure and legal reforms to ensure transparent, inclusive and accountable governance in digital transformation.

Education, Training & Sustainable Programs Division, provides non-formal education and vocational training programs focusing on digital, language and other vocational technical skills to empower youth and reduce unemployment.

Media & ICT Division, this division comes to promote digital communication and information technology development. This division is also to promote innovation, develop ICT, integrate digital platforms, open-source and free software, manage digital platforms, support youth in the digital economy, ensure data protection and responsible online engagement.
